Whereas many companies must order black and white cookie-cutter industrial products and packages from their suppliers, MIT can go back to the manufacturers we represent and talk about specific customer needs due to our close relationship.
For example, we recently worked with Magnatech to create a custom solution for a customer. We often work with customers whose equipment is outdated. One such customer came to us in need of a new orbital welding system. They had several specialized, non-standard collets for welding ferrules and fittings, but these specialized collets were incompatible with anything but their obsolete weld head. This prevented them from updating their orbital welding system and left them in the technological dust.
In order to save the customer time and money, we spoke with Magnatech and presented them with the problem. After collaborating, we found a solution that best benefited the customer. Magnatech was able to design and manufacture a set of custom collet adapters. The old collets were able to snap into the adapter interchangeably, and the adapter was able to fit inside a new Magnatech weld head. Because of this, our customer was able to buy new orbital welding equipment without the headache of having to find all new specialized collets.
